I have an open insurance claim at my job, what to expect from adjuster?

My daughter found a hypodermic needle in a room we were staying in at my workplace. My daughter was poked with this needle and it has caused nothing but heartache not knowing if she has anything. I have opened a claim with my jobs insurance and I wanted to know what to expect from the adjuster and how much should we negoitate for.
